Job Description:

Boys & Girls Clubs of America College & Career Program Director in United States The Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro South was formed in 2019 through the merger of the Boys & Girls Club of Brockton and Taunton in order to maximize our impact in each community and bridge the service gaps throughout the region.

The College and Career Program Director, under the supervision of the Senior Program Director is responsible to provide leadership and strategic direction in the delivery of the organization’s “whole teen” education model which will include existing and newly developed services and programs to assure 100% of active teen members graduate from high school with post- secondary plans. This will be achieved via coordination of efforts between Club programs, area businesses and educational institutions, faculty, employers, alumnus, volunteers and military services as it relates to college and career services. Additionally, the director is responsible for overall supervision and coordination of the teen center.

Through maximum and efficient utilization of the organization’s resources, the College and Career Program Director will ensure that the programs and objectives of the organization are communicated to and effectively executed and supported by all staff and volunteers.

Contributes to the overall Club mission of strengthening to nurture strong minds, healthy bodies, and community spirit through youth-driven, high-impact programs in safe and fun

Develops and directs high-quality relationship-based Club member

Models relationship-building skills in all interactions with staff, members, volunteers, and the

Establish Club program objectives consistent with organizational goals and

Oversee the provision of day-to-day program activities in accordance with established standards and

Ensure that members, especially teens, are encouraged to participate in a variety of program areas/activities and receive instruction and constructive feedback to develop skills in program area(s).

Program Development and Implementation

Carry out and help plan measures to achieve the organization’s strategic vision-100% high school graduation and post- secondary plans for active

Develop as needed and oversee applicable program components to provide professional guidance to teen members to include career assessments, information on careers, occupations and employers, identification and clarification of personal values and goals, etc. to help ensure and support each member’s successful academic and personal

Implement the Jobs Program according to goals established and provide workshops, seminars and career fairs to assist with preparation for the job search process, placement and graduate/professional school admission including resume writing and interview skills workshops, presentations by career professionals and simulated interview

Work effectively with the Resource Development team in creating and sustaining corporate relationships that result in employment related experiences and placements per organization’s

Assist with the establishment of in-depth monitoring, program evaluation and data driven systems for maximum accountability and impact that reflect operational efficiencies needed to meet the outcomes sought.

Establish and maintain tracking process to know status of each year’s graduating senior who completes our programs.

Help Club staff with monitoring, accessing and collecting information on member’s academic and career planning progress to maintain awareness of each teen member’s status and provide intervention as

Provide orientation and make quarterly presentations and information to Club parents and students about college and career planning services, programs and

Supervision

Provides strong recruitment, development, and succession planning processes to insure the hiring, professional development and retention of high quality

Allocate and monitor work assigned to program volunteers and staff, providing ongoing feedback and regular appraisal. Identify and support training and development opportunities for assigned volunteers and staff.

Provides feedback to Club strategic planning efforts and drives the annual operating plan of the Club

Works with Club leadership to set achievable operational and performance goals for assigned staff which are aligned with long term goals and strategies of the Club

Assists with the development of the annual budget under the guidance of the supervisor and organization leadership.

Marketing and Public Relations

Increase visibility of Club programs via posting of daily schedule, announcements of upcoming events and the dissemination of timely information for the development of advertising and promotion through mailings, fliers, media releases and social

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in education, social sciences, or related field

Teacher certification, preferred

At least 2 years of relevant professional experience

Experience in teaching and navigating K-12 school systems

Ability to work well independently and in a collaborative team environment

Excellence in program development and relationship-building

Demonstrated problem-solving skills

Demonstrated potential to prepare and facilitate impactful trainings/meetings

Experience in leading and motivating staff in different disciplines and locations

Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills

Ability to relate well to people of all ages from diverse ethnic, cultural and economic backgrounds

Ability and willingness to work evening and/or weekend hours, as needed

Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet usage
