Job Description:
General Summary Performs evaluations and treatment within the
scope of SLP practice per ASHA standards. Provides case
coordination, parent counseling and follow-up services to
community. Completes required documentation on time. This position
is in the Early Intervention Program and requires home visiting
with infants, toddlers, and their families throughout the
communities of Boston and Brookline. Key Responsibilities -
Performs evaluations and treatment, within the scope of SLP
practice per ASHA standards as assigned. Interviews and counsels
families and patients regarding communication/feeding and
swallowing status. Plans and implements case management, follow-up,
and referrals for patients. - Documents and reports the results of
communication / feeding and swallowing evaluations and treatment.
Complies with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. -
Attends program meetings and participates as assigned. Contributes
and shares knowledge, materials, resources and handouts across team
members including at program meetings, via email, and within
program drive / repository for common use. - Continues individual
professional growth by participating in continuing education
activities, reading professional journals, mastering use of new
equipment and technologies; fosters professional growth of other
staff by sharing information gained through continuing education. -
Completes program tasks (e.g., intake triage, program inquiries)
and in-house in-services (e.g. fellows’ presentations) as assigned.
Under guidance from coordinator or director, serves as peer
ambassador to new hires. Minimum Requirements Education/ License
and Certification - Work requires the knowledge of theories,
principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of a
Master's degree in Speech Pathology. - License in Speech-Language
Pathology from the Division of Professional Licensure, Commonwealth
of Massachusetts - Certificate of Clinical Competence in
Speech-Language Pathology (CCC SLP) from the American Speech
Language Hearing Association Experience - Candidates must have
Early Intervention experience with children ages 0–3. - Experince
with home visits is preferred. - Work requires the analytical
skills to collect information from diverse sources, apply
professional principles in performing various analyses, and
summarize the information and data in order to solve problems OR
design relatively complex systems and programs. - Work requires
communication skills in order to effectively deal with conflicting
views or issues and mediate fair solutions, and well developed
writing skills. The posted pay range is Boston Children’s
reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of
posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience,
education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related
factors. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive benefits package
