Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Psychiatric - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/25/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 32 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, evenings - Employment Type: Local Contract Registered Nurse – Psychiatric | $64 hourly |32 hours/week We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Psychiatric to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a behavioral health setting. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients experiencing mental health conditions while ensuring a safe therapeutic environment. The nurse will collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and interdisciplinary team members to support patient recovery and stabilization. Job Details: Location: Methuen, MA Contract Duration: 13 weeks with possible extensions Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM Hours Guaranteed: 32 hours per week Unit: B2 Psychiatric Unit (22 beds, current census: 12 patients) Responsibilities: Provide direct nursing care to psychiatric patients in an inpatient behavioral health unit. Conduct comprehensive mental health and physical assessments. Monitor patient behavior, mood, and response to treatment. Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility policies. Implement crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when needed. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized care plans. Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and coping strategies. Ensure patient safety and adherence to behavioral health protocols. Requirements Active RN license Minimum 3 years of psychiatric nursing experience. Experience in inpatient behavioral health or psychiatric units preferred. BLS certification required Strong assessment, crisis management, and communication skills.
