Job Description Pride Health is hiring a Laboratory Technical
Assistant II (LTA II) to support laboratory operations at a major
healthcare facility in Brockton, MA 02301 . This is a full-time
contract opportunity with evening and night shift availability,
ideal for candidates with strong phlebotomy, specimen processing,
and laboratory support experience. Job Summary The Laboratory
Technical Assistant II (LTA II) supports daily laboratory
operations by performing phlebotomy, patient registration, specimen
collection, processing, and distribution . This role ensures
accurate, timely, and safe handling of laboratory specimens while
delivering high-quality, customer-focused service to patients and
clinical teams. The LTA II serves as a key resource within the lab,
supporting workflow efficiency, maintaining compliance with
policies, and assisting with training and troubleshooting as
needed. Key Responsibilities Laboratory Registration & Support
Register patients and laboratory orders in EPIC and SunQuest .
Verify and enter patient demographics, test orders, and specimen
information accurately. Generate barcode labels, label specimens,
and manage outstanding specimen lists. Respond to telephone
inquiries related to specimens and test status; escalate technical
questions as appropriate. Distribute specimens to appropriate
laboratory departments. File requisitions and support
billing/compliance teams with documentation and ICD-10
requirements. Troubleshoot outpatient requisitions and workflow
issues. Maintain a safe, organized work environment. Act as a
resource for training and supporting other laboratory personnel.
Specimen Collection (Phlebotomy) Perform venipuncture on inpatient
and outpatient populations following established procedures.
Perform therapeutic phlebotomies as required. Monitor specimen
workflow using tracking systems. Review SunQuest Collect to ensure
test completion and document time-sensitive requirements. Resolve
specimen identification or labeling issues in coordination with
care units. Adhere to standard precautions and PPE requirements at
all times. Specimen Processing & Send-Outs Process specimens
including centrifugation, aliquoting, and labeling . Prepare and
package specimens for referral laboratories, ensuring correct
specimen type, volume, and documentation. Receive specimens from
couriers, verify manifests, and manage distribution. Operate
pneumatic tube systems and perform basic troubleshooting as needed.
Required Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or
equivalent. Experience: Graduate of a Phlebotomy Training Program –
Preferred Prior laboratory or specimen handling experience –
Preferred Certification: Phlebotomy Certification – Preferred ASCP
Phlebotomy certification or eligibility – Preferred Skills: Strong
phlebotomy and specimen handling skills Basic clerical and data
entry proficiency Excellent communication and customer service
skills Ability to follow written procedures and safety protocols
Systems: EPIC and SunQuest experience preferred. Schedule &

Shift Options: Evenings: 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM Nights: 9:00 PM – 5:30
