Job Description:

A Food manufacturing company in the Southern Boston area is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to join a well-established company!Duties/Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and manage processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery.Identify and set appropriate quality standards and parameters for products.Communicate quality standards and parameters to the QA team, product development team, and other relevant staff.Coordinate product testing processes, including sending out samples for validation to meet GFSI requirements.Identify and analyze issues, bugs, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products; recommend and facilitate solutions to these issues.Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.Engage in weekly plant audits of GMP sheet, HACCP Pre-shipper Reviews, etc.Develop, implement, and enforce all Good Manufacturing Practices, Internal Auditing Programs, Annual Certification Requirements, and annual trainings for HACCP & GFSI.Maintain and Update the HACCP plan to meet FDA FSMA requirements and perform verification activities as required.Generate and maintain USDA, Non-USDA, and Labels using the Genesis program and follow government agencies' labeling guidelines.Maintain GFSI certification and stay current with annual changes & updates.Manage the investigation and reporting of quality issues. Review complaint trends through monthly Senior Management meetings.Responsible for developing, maintaining, updating, and improving Food Safety and Food Quality Fundamentals (GFSI policies).Responsible for upholding, following, and maintaining the requirements of the GFSI Food Safety Code for Manufacturing.Requirements/Skills:Minimum of a B.S. Degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience will be considered.Quality certifications such as PCQI and Better Process Control are preferred.Bachelor s degree in Food Science, Biology, or equivalent job experience.3 to 5 years
experience as a Quality Manager/SupervisorBakery manufacturing experience highly preferred.Minimum of 3-5 years
