Job Description:
You will provide decision-quality data and technical expertise
to divisional leadership. Responsibilities include overseeing the
development of our data solutions to provide leadership with
relevant data insights. You will support our product area so
experience in the insurance domain is beneficial. You will report
to a Director, Data Engineering.Position Compensation
Range:$128,000.00 - $216,000.00Pay Rate Type:SalaryCompensation may
vary based on the job level and your geographic work location.
Relocation support is offered for eligible
candidates.Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive data strategy that enables
optimized business solutions through comprehensive datasets.
- Identify new technology platforms required to meet our needs or
strategies, partnering with partners.
- Lead a team in the execution of the strategic data goals of the
division and improve divisional data environments.
- Create the data platform, applications, databases, data
pipelines, and tools for a business facing function.
- Identify new technology platforms required to meet our needs,
collaborate with divisional leaders to design our data
strategy.
- Provide guidance and technical leadership to staff on evolving
data technologies.
- Create a collaborative, performance-driven work environment by
promoting trust, transparency, and inclusion. Work with team
members to set clear goals, provide feedback, perform performance
assessments, and support ongoing development.
- Lead with influence and expertise. Contribute to division or
department leadership team. Communicate and support organization
mission, vision, values and policies.Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-oriented solutions
or support and communicating to partners.
- Demonstrated experience working with cloud computing platforms
(e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure), and with networking and cloud security
concepts.
- Understanding of creating data strategies.
- Advanced proficiency with data modeling and ETL from relational
databases.
- Advanced proficiency with relevant programming languages, such
as VBA, SAS, SQL, HTML, and Python.
- Demonstrated experience working with cloud computing platforms
(e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure), and with networking and cloud security
concepts.
- Demonstrated experience with big data batch computing tools
(e.g. Hadoop or Spark) , distributed data processing, and
Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Docker, CloudFormation,
Terraform)
- Demonstrated experience with software engineering tools and
workflows (i.e. Jenkins, CI/CD, git).
- Demonstrated experience working with insurance industry data
and data systems in a business setting.
- Demonstrated experience implementing complex data management
programs.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.Additional Job InformationIn
this hybrid role, you will work at least 10 days per month from the
office and reside within approximately 35-50 miles of one of the
following office locations: Madison, WI 53783; Boston, MA 02110.If
you are not proximate to Madison/Boston, you will relocate to
