We are proud of our creative product development, innovative packaging, quality assurance protocols and modern production facilities that enable us to satisfy our customers and consumers as we build on our commitment to Creating a World of Fresh, Delightful FoodsWe currently have an opening for a Manufacturing Plant Engineer in our Taunton Massachusetts facility. The Plant Engineer is responsible for outlining the scope of all capex, cost reduction and operational improvement initiatives/projects at Tribe. This role is a hands-on collaborative team member who has a relentless drive for process improvement and goal achievement. Furthermore, this role will model a high level of multi-tasking, problem solving, timely decision-making, independent thinking, and perseverance.Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project plans and coordinate project activities; track critical path milestones, accomplishments and results. Ensure that end-to-end project planning, risk identification, issues identification / escalation, and change management are being managed appropriately utilizing best practice project management standards
  • Partner with Production and Maintenance teams to streamline the manufacturing process, reducing waste and helping improve efficiencies
  • Operates within the plant processes, teams and policies
  • Develop and implement design for PLC control programming, servos, VFD and hardware
  • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to Improve manufacturing efficiency
  • Applies a "go see" discipline in all things.
  • Gather and provide management with needed information and metrics. This will include; Extract/compare/maintain/analyze data
  • Engages with all team members to outline current and future state as it relates to process improvement
  • Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot technically challenging problems (machinery, equipment, processes)
  • Work with outside vendors and contractors as needed
  • Provide engineering support in the design, operation and maintenance of plant processes, equipment and facilities
  • Maintain and update all plant equipment inspections, P&ID's, drawings and diagrams
  • Build throughput models as needed
  • Plan preventive maintenance
  • Participates in Plant leadership forums, huddles, staff meetings.
  • Develop and implement project management procedures and methodologies to achieve business goals. Skills / Qualifications
    • Mechanical or Process Engineering degree required
    • A minimum of 7 years of project management required
    • A minimum of 7 years in a food manufacturing operation required
    • A Minimum of 5 years PLC programming experience
    • 5 years working with and participating in LEAN manufacturing principles and activities required
    • Ability to work independently and within teams
    • Understands food plant GMP's, area designations, clean design requirements and the impact to process and equipment layout designs required
    • Results oriented; ability to commit to and follow initiatives through completion
    • Competent in using Microsoft Suite
    • Strong time management
    • Must be proficient in CAD, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
    • Familiar with creating SOP's, OPL's and process docs
    • Good organization skills with the ability to plan projects/activities with a high energy level.
    • Creative problem solving skills, sound judgment, and an orientation towards innovation.
